Alright, I had to lead with the All NBA Fantasy All Star team, but we all know this list is will be much more contentious. Before I dig in, a couple quick notes. My comment system was down last night through this afternoon in case you noticed my delayed responses. Also, the best Buy Low player money can buy right is Antawn Jamison. I'd suggest trying a guy like Jamal Crawford or Marc Gasol or Corey Maggette or Aaron Brooks or even Stephen Curry.
On to the list!
PG: Stephen Curry
First and foremost it's about minutes. Then it's about stats. I REALLY wanted to put Darren Collison here, let's be honest he's had the toughest job of any rookie PG ever, but the money guy is Curry. Jennings gets first runner up, but really doesn't compare. 18 points, 4 boards, 5 dimes, 2 steals, 2 treys over the last month. That's top notch fantasy stuff.
SG: Tyreke Evans
Cause he IS a two guard, I don't care WHAT Sacramento thinks. Reke deserves to be the ROY this year, his 20, 5, 5 line on the season is just nasty. His numbers are comparable to both Durant and LBJ in their rookie year. There were concerns about his production when Kevin Martin came back, but it seems Martin is the one to be worried about. Marcus Thornton is the first runner up here.
SF: Omri Casspi
Gonna hafta name the Sacramento Kings the All Rookie team too! Casspi has been very solid for stints this year. When Kevin Martin was out, Casspi had a string of 20 point, 7 rebound games that vaulted him into startable status. Of course, he doesn't really have any competition here either, which helps.
PF: Taj Gibson
Tyrus Thomas who? The 26th overall pick for the Bulls has had a nice presence down low to compliment Joakim Noah. His 1.4 blocks and several double digit rebound performances have been fantasy gold for spot starts. While not an everyday starter today, you can bet he'll find a way onto rosters next season.
C: Dejuan Blair
Another guy with big shoes to fill (ever heard of Tim Duncan?) Blair has been outstanding when he gets the minutes. A rare talent, he shoots at a high clip and pulls boards down like a beast. His Jan 13th performance of 28 points and 21 rebounds solidified this guys fantasy future, stuff like that just isn't a fluke.
Well that about rounds it off for me. Couple of solid rooks I passed over were Harden, Lawson, Flynn, Buddinger to go with Jennings, Collison and Thornton. In fantasy we hardly keep track of rookies outside of the top few so I definitely might have missed someone, or maybe you disagree with who we've got up there? Let me have it Brandon Jennings lovers, I know it's coming.
Good luck tonight guys, let's ink some deals and pad some leads!
