Your Product, Your Landing Page

Your Landing Page-Your Product
By Vickie J. Scanlon

A landing page is like a salesman in a store that is ready to help the consumer answer any questions they may have. But the problem is with most of us is-"What does the consumer want to know?"

What does the consumer want to know? There is no easy answer to the above asked question. So what must you do? The answer is obvious, it's called-TEST!

I know, some were hoping for an easy and fast answer. But there is one thing that is certain, you have to think like a consumer and not be so much in love with your product that you are blind-sided. So what do you need to consider?

Things to consider about your landing page/product relationship:

1. What is it used for and how will it benefit the consumer?
2. Does it solve a problem?
3. Does the product achieve the promise you are making?
4. Are you able to offer the consumer discounts or deals. Consumers love deals.
5. Give a sense of urgency

When you have a landing page up and running, don't try to kill it to fast. It may take about 3 to 6 months to see some action. And secondly you should incorporate more than just SEO marketing. If you have the money, utilize paid click advertising.

Behind the scenes of your landing page

1. Is your SEO marketing keywords matching your product/landing page
2. Do you have readable urls- Readable urls makes your page user friendly with the search engines. If your url puts up a red flag to the search engine-the search engine will back out and not read your web pages. So in most cases, html will run through the bots more than a dynamic link would.

To conclude, a quality crafted landing page is a strong tool to use on a website when selling your product or service. But you must always remember to keep the copy clean, without duplicate content violations and focused on the consumer.
