Your Content

Your Content
By Vickie J. Scanlon

Your content, what can it do for you, and what it should do for you, if you are working online?

Most webmasters and bloggers hope above all things that their content will get them two things: 1) Traffic, and 2) Revenue.

But there are several other important things you must not forget- though abstract in nature, and at the least, it is sometimes forgotten-your content should also build your reputation, develop trust with your readers, and hopefully connect you to your peers.

Niche markets and your reputation

If you are knowledgeable within your niche-your content will help to promote your reputation. But if you knowledge is limited, you will need to do thorough research, experiment and grow your knowledge, and share the information with your readers.

What is an expert?

An expert is:
1) Someone that stays in the know in their niche field.
2) Someone who is able to weed through the garbage of fact and fiction. This comes with time and experience.
3) Someone who is able to untangle the massive jargon of changes in their field with content that their readers, who may be at different levels of expertise, can understand.

Can you become an expert? Yes, but your must have an intense interest, and unrelenting appetite to learn, with a willingness to share. But if you already have a vast amount of information stored from your experience in a field, your learning curve is reduced to learning the ways of the Internet.

To conclude, people on the Internet are all looking for one thing-information. If you can rise to the top with your knowledge, your content will get you the traffic and the revenue you seek.
