Internet Scam-Google Cash Kit Scam

Internet Scam-Google Cash Kit Scam

How far will a scammer go to get money from a person? You'll see with this work at home scam that involves references to Google.

There are a lot of blogs/websites popping up stating that they are making $5000 a month by working from home, with only 10 hours a week with a Google Cash Kit offered through Google. For those new to the Internet, they assume this is a safe bet because of the "Google" name. So, here's a quick summary of how the scam goes down.

The blogs/websites that offer this unique opportunity always state that his/her life was changed when he/she discovered the Google Cash Kit offered by Google. It helped him/her get out of debt and he could quit his boring job. It goes on to state and show all the big ticket items that they have been able to purchase. In addition, they show you a check they received from Google (which is bogus).

The kit these blogs/websites are offering is free, with a small shipping fee of $1.97. They also state that with this small fee you will soon be getting $1500 checks from Google. (This is the first sign that this is a scam. You should immediately ask yourself why such a large company would be selling a kit to make money.)

Here is where the scam goes down. Once you filled in the form and released your credit card number, you will not only receive the useless kit (sometimes), but also, you will begin seeing additional charges on your credit card (around $78 a month). Other victims state that these charges continued until they canceled their credit card.

If you find yourself being taken in by this scam, contact your credit card company immediately. Tell them to please take the additional charges off your credit card. If more charges are placed on your credit card the next month, you should request that the credit card company cancel your card, and issue you a new one.

The credit card company will ask you to complete a form that states the charges you want removed from your card were unauthorized by you, the card holder. This form protects your credit rating, so don't ignore it-complete and return immediately.

My advice is to always research these get rich quick schemes. Here are some simple checks. And it's really simple to do. You can either do a quick Google search on the possible scam or look at RipOff website for announcements. In addition, report the scam to the Better Business Bureau (All links available on my web page Report Your Scams).

Remember, scammers always look for an emotional issue to draw the victim into their web of deceit. So, if a situation looks to good to be true, it usually is. Which means -DO YOUR RESEARCH.

New US iPhone Carriers, Updated AppleTV With TV Subscriptions?

A research note by Piper Jaffray analyst Gene Munster suggests that Apple will make some changes in the upcoming year, according to an AppleInsider report.

One predication is that Apple will end its exclusive agreement with AT&T and add other US iPhone carriers.

"For various reasons the company moved from an exclusive relationship with French wireless carrier Orange to a multi-carrier model," Munster said. "In France, the company now enjoys dramatically higher market share (in the 40 percent range vs. about 15 percent in ROW) than in countries with exclusive carrier agreements (such as AT&T in the U.S. where the iPhone has market share in the mid-teens). We believe Apple is seeing the increased unit sell-through more than offset the slightly (~10 percent) deteriorated economics per unit involved in non-exclusive agreements."

AT&T is said to be working hard to keep its exclusivity through 2011; however, Munster believes Apple will announce new carriers in the summer of 2010 along with a new iPhone model.

Munster also suggests that Apple is unhappy with the current TV and Movie offerings in iTunes. "We believe Apple is unhappy with the current status of video on the iTunes Store and is working to change it," Munster said. "These changes, however, will take time, in the form of lengthy negotiations, in order to bring the rights for TV and movies up to speed in a digital world."

His analysis indicates that Apple will soon offer a subscription model for TV Shows that would replace the need for a cable tv subscription.

"While timing on the launch of such a new product is very uncertain given the negotiations that would need to take place, Apple may work to launch it simultaneously with a new version of Apple TV, or an undated Apple TV software within the next year," he said. "Moreover, we believe Apple has wisely avoided a subscription music model, as music listeners prefer to listen to their own music, and listen to it frequently. Movie watchers, on the other hand, prefer to rent, and typically only want to see a movie once or twice. Likewise, TV viewers are not accustomed to purchasing TV shows on an a-la-carte basis, and a subscription TV service would likely be more appealing."

Windows 7's Deadly Sins

http://techplore.com/technology/wp-content/uploads/2009/07/windows7_logo.jpg

The Free Software Foundation (FSF) last week launched a campaign against Microsoft Corp.'s upcoming Windows 7 operating system, calling it "treacherous computing" that stealthily takes away rights from users.

At the Web site Windows7Sins.org, the Boston-based FSF lists the seven "sins" that proprietary software such as Windows 7 commits against computer users.

They include: Poisoning education, locking in users, abusing standards such as OpenDocument Format (ODF), leveraging monopolistic behavior, threatening user security, enforcing Digital Rights Management (DRM) at the request of entertainment companies concerned about movie and music piracy, and invading your privacy.

"Windows, for some time now, has really been a DRM platform, restricting you from making copies of digital files," said executive director Peter Brown. And if Microsoft's Trusted Computing technology were fully implemented the way the company would like, the vendor would have "malicious and really complete control over your computer."

The result is that Microsoft could do things like Amazon.com, which last month went into customers' Kindle e-readers and deleted illegally-sold copies of novels such as George Orwell's 1984 , he said.

"This is treacherous computing," Brown said.

Microsoft did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

The group, best-known for overseeing the General Public License (GPL) used by most open-source software, including Linux , will hold a rally at noon in Boston Common, where it will unveil a 12-foot-tall art installation depicting Windows 7 "being trashed," Brown said.

The group is also sending a letter (available at the group's Web site) to top executives at Fortune 500 companies that argues their companies would benefit ethically, technically and, in the long-term, financially, from switching away from Windows and Microsoft Office to free alternatives such as Linux and OpenOffice.org.

Founded in the mid-1980s by hacker-activist Richard Stallman , the FSF argues that free software and source code is a moral right. It takes pains to distinguish itself from the open-source movement, which advocates sharing of source code but tolerates charging for software.

Both groups, however, view proprietary software vendors such as Microsoft, Adobe Systems Inc., and Apple Inc. as the enemy, Brown said.

Even with DRM, users running Windows PCs still maintain more freedom and privacy than those who foolishly use cloud computing services such as Google Docs and store their data there.

"That is the ultimate giving-away of your freedom," he said. "That's not a software freedom issue, it's a stupidity issue."

While Brown acknowledges that many Fortune 500 companies base their businesses around proprietary business models similar to Microsoft, he also points out that most of them, at least regarding software, are more consumer than vendor.

"Large corporations spend an awful lot of money on software. They face numerous software audits and more vendor lock-in than you or me," Brown said. "Do you think they would rather be driving on a freeway, or always be paying on toll roads?"

"I'm not expecting an instant wave of companies switching off XP to Linux," he said. "But we would like get that debate going. Hopefully, some will re-evaluate and say no to Windows 7."

Two-Tier affiliate marketing programs are best.

'Two-Tier affiliate marketing programmes are best' When you join an affiliate marketing programme or start an affiliate marketing programme of your own, you have got to choose whether it is going to be a single tier or two-tier program. This is awfully worthwhile for the affiliate as he'll induct an armed forces of sub-affiliates, all earning commissions for him without any effort on his part apart from the original inducting process. Mr Average has a site that receives average traffic. Sadly , few folk question what sort of tracking software the program uses.

Many firms telephone, fax and only track online, and this indicates you will lose between five percent - ten percent of your sales. It's got to be related that many of the favored affiliate firms are guilty of this. If the visitor returns to your internet site an hour later one day later week laterand buys, you won't be credited for the sale.

So, before you join any affiliate scheme make efforts to ask about the sort of tracking software they use. It may save everyone a tiny fortune in the long run. When he has saturated his market with your product,he would now plug your affiliate marketing programme to his buyers and ezine subscribers. This is why the two-tier affiliate marketing programme is a warranted winner and is going to be the automated choice for potential affiliates and affiliate marketing programme chiefs.

5 Reasons to Switch to Snow Leopard Now

snow leopard

After a year of hype, Snow Leopard is finally here. But does it have claws? Apple's newest Mac OS has been billed as an under-the-hood upgrade -- a necessary evolution of the operating system. But it's a little light on new features that Mac users can touch, see and feel (except, of course, for the mouse that responds to multiple finger gestures).

One of the big upgrades to the OS is that it supports multi-core applications (applications that run fast because they leverage many processors) and lets developers take better advantage of graphics chips. Yet there aren't many applications today that can take advantage of this performance improvement.

"You may see some [multi-core] applications in a number of months," says Gartner analyst Michael Silver, "but more major applications, you're probably talking next year and beyond."

[ Plan on installing Snow Leopard? Here's what you need to know. | Snow Leopard's early release puts the pressure on Microsoft, CIO reports. ]

Also, if you have an old Mac, upgrading to Snow Leopard might mean having to buy a new Mac. That's because Snow Leopard is designed for Macs with Intel chips, not PowerPC chips. Apple switched to Intel chips three years ago.

So why get Snow Leopard now? Here are five reasons.

Reason #1: Killer Price

Apple's $29 price point for Snow Leopard, as opposed to the previous $129 price tag, might be the best "feature" inapple the new OS for end users. The cheap price is a shot across the bow of Microsoft, which is readying the release of Windows 7 this fall after the Vista debacle.

Piper Jaffray analyst Gene Munster wrote in a research note: "Apple is promoting the Mac platform as a superior alternative to Windows in terms of newer technology, more frequently, for less money. The release of Snow Leopard is not about new features; rather, it is about keeping Mac users up to date with the latest technology vs. Windows XP and Vista users on antiquated technology."

Snow Leopard also runs more efficiently and is more compact than its predecessor, Leopard, thus freeing up 7 gigabytes of hard drive space. That alone may be worth $29.

Reason #2: Native Exchange Support

Snow Leopard's email, calendar and contacts apps support Exchange 2007. This improvement will likely inspire the most excitement among users because it will enable them to get company email without using Outlook or Entourage. Clearly, with this enhancement, Apple is making a statement that Macs can be more easily used in an enterprise.

"But it's a little bit of a red herring," warns Silver. "If I have Microsoft Office for Mac or am running a Windows virtual machine, I'll have that anyway. It's of dubious value."

Snow Leopard's Exchange support, though, might lead to rogue users bringing in Macs and linking to corporate networks more seamlessly, Silver says. "As more applications move to be more OS-neutral instead of Windows apps, you'll probably see more [Macs] coming in, if not through the front door then in the back, and organizations will have to deal with that," he says.

Reason #3: What's Up, Dock?

Even though Snow Leopard is more of an evolutionary upgrade, as opposed to a feature-rich one, this doesn't mean there aren't any visible improvements. The mouse and the dock at the bottom of the screen have some interesting enhancements.

By simply moving the cursor over a Word icon in the dock, for instance, you'll see all the documents currently open. Apple has integrated Expose features into the dock. Right-clicking also brings up a host of options just like in Windows.

Reason #4: Multimedia Speed

Other cool benefits of the new OS concern multimedia. Snow Leopard's QuickTime software, for instance, converts clips for playing on iPhones and lets users upload to YouTube. That is, you don't have to buy QuickTime Pro for these capabilities.

Web browsing and image rendering should be faster, too, thanks to Snow Leopard's ability to process data in 64-bit chunks.

Reason #5: Stay Current and Secure

Experienced Mac users know they need to stay within a release or two of the Mac OS because at some point, Apple will stop providing security fixes for older releases. And it's been almost two years since the last OS release.

The problem is that Apple won't say when it'll stop providing those security fixes, Silver says. You don't want to face security issues after the fact. When it comes to security, it's better to be proactive than reactive. If you're using something older than Leopard, it would be wise to upgrade to Snow Leopard sooner rather than later.

Generally speaking, Macs are known to be safer than Windows machines. Macs aren't necessarily safer technically, rather they're safer because fewer hackers and virus writers target the platform.

As the Mac grows in popularity -- Mac OS X installed user base has tripled in the last two years -- you can expect hackers and virus writers to take notice. As the threat of malware rises on the Mac, Apple has had to acknowledge this fact. Thus, Snow Leopard comes with some rudimentary malware protection features such as malware detection.

Upcoming Features in Facebook 3.1 iPhone App

http://pulpandsoda.com/images/facebook-icon.jpg

Joe Hewitt, the developer of Facebook for iPhone has detailed some of the upcoming features in Facebook 3.1.

ReadWriteWeb had a chance to talk with Hewitt and learn more about the app's roadmap. In the interview he mentioned three new features...

Contact list synchronization between your Facebook friends list and your phone's contact list
"It's a Terms of Service thing more than a technical limitation,"

Push notifications
"I plan to have it in the next major update, the 3.1. It will be the same kind of notifications you get on the website. I probably won't right off the bat give you chat notifications. If you've ever used Facebook's SMS notifications, you can have pretty granular control and it will be the same level of notification in terms of whose notifications you see and what categories you see."

Saved, site-wide search
"I hope but I can't promise to get that into the 3.1 update," Hewitt said. "We're still working on getting that into the API. I'm also hoping to let you save a search to your home screen."

No word yet on the planned release date for Facebook 3.1; however, we will let you know as soon as anymore information is available.

Misconceptions Re Online home based enterprises.

And now, the remainder of the one hundred million online buyers have a correct strategy to figure out which internet sites and which corporations they should definitely scan, based on direct feedback from online buyers who have successfully and safely conducted online transactions.

But the small print of those transactions are disclosing.

In the course of my small business training activities, I have regularly revealed that folks head into the start-up of their internet home businesses with a wildly impractical attitude.

many have been told that they can join up to some programs, build a site around them, add some banners and links onto their site, then relax and watch the cash roll in and never need to work again.

there's a myth that you can go online and set up a Net based business and be making serious money within just a few days. This is comprehensive hogwash and it's not been my experience nor the experience of anybody I have come in communication with thru my web business activities. They're often not aware about the many hours of promoting time that they'll need to put in to achieve success. It doesn't matter what kind of business you are beginning, if it is online, it has to be marketed online, and probably offline also.

it usually stuns me how often individuals that start an internet home business essentially believe that they can become rich by doing completely nothing, or at least with little effort. Why would they suspect this? My conclusion is they believe because they need to believe. 7 out of 10 US Shoppers deserted their transactions at Web Storefronts leading to non-salvageable lost sales prospects.

Samsung's upcoming WB5000 24x zoomer shoots RAW photos and HD video

Samsung has a new one in the works, the WB5000, presumably offering the price advantages of an 24x zoomin' all-in-one with some of the features and image quality of a DSLR -- that's the dream, anyway. The camera shoots 12.5 megapixel stills, with full manual controls, face detection and support for RAW formatted images, while also offering HD recording and a relatively compact form factor. True details are scarce, but it sounds promising on the surface. The WB5000 should be out in the fourth quarter, no word on price just yet.

Apple: Exploding iPhones Not Our Fault

http://www.quickpwn.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/08/iphone-explosion.png

Apple says it's not to blame for a series of exploding iPods and iPhones, according to a report published on Friday. The company has been under fire, so to speak, for devices overheating and shattering across Europe and the U.K.

Sheesh...and you thought the data rates were bad.

Exploding iPhone Investigation

This exploding iPhone business is no laughing matter: The European Union actually launched a formal inquiry last week after a teen in France said his girlfriend's iPhone screen blew up without warning and sent a shard of glass into his eye. Witnesses told a local paper the phone began to "crackle and pop like a deep-fryer" (only, we assume, without the delicious smell).

The France incident wasn't alone, either: It was preceded by a handful of other reports of exploding Apple devices in Europe and the U.K. In one instance, a man claimed Apple tried to keep him from talking by offering a full refund in exchange for his signature on a gag order. He reportedly refused, instead bringing the alleged smoking gun to the U.K.'s Times newspaper.

The Blame Game

So if Apple's not to blame for the detonating devices, who is? The company now says it's the customers, claiming some sort of improper handling led to the explosions.

"In all cases, the glass cracked due to an external force that was applied to the iPhone," a London-based spokesperson tells Bloomberg.

That explanation seems to contradict the statement by the teen from France, who's quoted by the AP as saying his girlfriend's phone "was not dropped and experienced no unusual shock" before its sudden combustion. (To be fair, applying some sort of "external force" could have been a "usual" occurrence for the couple. Interpret as you will.)

Either way, the investigation doesn't appear to be over. Apple reps met with French government officials to talk about the complaints and "possible measures" that could be taken, the AP reports, and independent experts from the U.S. are said to be conducting further tests as well.

Of course, you could always just side with the satirists and point the finger at Apple's "oppressive regime." Hey, it's your call.

Le Petit Prince roving greenhouse robot is overwhelmingly cute, useful

Something about Le Petit Prince, the mobile, plant-loving greenhouse robot makes us indescribably sad. Is it his one, massive adorable eye? Or merely the fact that he's named after one of the most depressing books ever written? Either way, we can't really argue with his usefulness -- the concept can carry about plants and care for them, all the while ravaging the terrain for further specimens. He's also designed to learn about the optimal growing conditions of the plants he collects, which really makes us want one to care for a certain, finicky houseplant we won't call out by name (but we're looking at you, Venus Flytrap). SELF SCIENTIFIC - JETSKI

When we first did this song (2 years ago), Khalil didn't like it that much. It fits the mold of songs in our catalog that are dope, but just aren't what our fans expect from us. I usually like these songs, because the type of Hip-Hop I'm entertained by is closer to these themes. However, "You Can't Fall", "2 Step", "What You Need" never get the type of reaction with critics that I expect. To me, it's just good GROWN MAN HIP-HOP. Not an official album tr.

I played some joints for Mos Def when he was in town (prohibitnyc.com)a while back and posted the footage (see below),people seemed to like what they could hear of the track so..FUCK IT

Apple to Release the Tablet in Three Sizes?

Gizmodo has received a tip from a source "that has always been 100% reliable" informing them that Apple is working on a 10-inch tablet, and 13" and 15" model as well.

This source claims that the two touchscreen prototypes—made of aluminum, but on the shape of big iPhones—were in a factory in Shenzuen, China. One of them "was running Mac OS X 10.5." When I asked, the source didn't know if these were built for demonstration purposes, or if they were preproduction units. The company has a tight relation with Apple but "it's not FoxConn."

Until now speculation has been that Apple will put a modified version of the iPhone OS on the tablet device. This may be the first evidence that the tablet could run the more powerful Mac OS X.

Taking a leap into the dark.

Taking a blind leap Many times every month, I hear from people on my affiliate team or read posts on different business forums working with the topic of spending cash. You could even say, that investing cash in any business needs a leap into the dark. For those that are new to the business world, I give the following piece of recommendation. Whether or not you are concerned in affiliate marketing, or own a bricks and mortar operation, the recommendation applies similarly. There are only 3 things that you can spend when it comes to generating a profit in any business.

Time - It may appear free, but if you concentrate on it, it is one of the most costly things that you can spend on a business. Imagine what kind of time this would save if there wer many thousand members on my mail list. Effort - As you can see from the above paragraph, I spend quite a lot of effort to share info with my team every month. lets look at another example of effort.

One of the first selling techniques that I used to build my business was free advertising. If you have looked into this strategy, or tried it, you are painfully aware about the quantity of work that goes into making a sequence of ads, finding places to show them, sorting thru the tons of spam that come from these advertisements, and attempting to track and copy your attempts in an ever changing marketplace.

All of this in the name of attempting to save one or two dollars and do something for free. I spend just a couple of dollars on my auto-responder, but it saves me masses of hours every month. As an affiliate , it is kind of very unlikely to quantify the quantity of commission you lose thru deliberate link hijacking or other, less malignant, forms of commission losses. Even merchants, who see the opposite side of the business relationship, can only guess at the true extent of commission losses. By spending one or two dollars with SFI every month, you can become an Executive affiliate . Sure you have to invest a couple of dollars every month to be EA qualified, but many of the products that are available thru SFI can replace other products that you are paying for the moment. You can purchase stuff like Long Distance Service, Web Service, Business recommendation Resources, Nourishment Additions that are better than anything on market and some of the best and safest cleaning products in the world. Autocopy Add-on

AutocopyWhenever you prepare for a presentation or report, you Google it, copy from different sources and then paste it. It took a considerable amount of time to copy and paste the data if you have large number of sources. Also it would be a great help for bloggers .Select text on any web page and it will be automatically copied to the clipboard. It works in much the same way as does Trillian or mIrc. Paste on middle click into textboxes, the url bar, and the search bar.

Select some text. Right click on it and see the autocopy content area context menu item filled with usefull features. (old users of autocopy will want to turn this on. In the options page look for "Content Area Context Menu Item"). You can undo a copy; there is a clipboard history of up to 10 items; paste to the search or location box with a click of the button; search for and open in new tab for when you select a text only url. Plus a handy append url to clipboard feature that will make sure your quotes can always have a reference.

Chace Infinite - The Path - I WOULD HAVE KILLED THIS

I decided to attack the beat Khalil did for 50 Cent feat. Akon "I Still Kill". In classic Self Scientific fashion...instead of talking about the desire to kill someone, I talk about life and my attempts to understand the path Allah has laid. I used the ORIGINAL hook with the homie Kobe. You can tell Akon used the same melody and slightly re-wrote the words. You would have never heard it on the radio but, this is what it what have sounded like, as a Self Scientific song.

Premium Plaxo for Comcast users …

Comcast logo I recently switched from DSL (which I'd had since it first was invented) to Comcast Cable for my Internet connection (and TV and phone). By doing so I saved about a hundred bucks a month over AT&T and DirecTV. Of course as soon as I switched, AT&T started calling me with a bundle that was roughly the same price, but that's a different story.

One of the things that happened a while back was that Plaxo was bought by Comcast. I have always been a premium Plaxo user, feeling that I wanted to support them since I find the product so incredibly useful. What I learned was that if you are a Comcast subscriber, you are automatically a Plaxo premium user.

Now, being a premium subscriber used to only mean you got VIP support and access to a couple of tools (like the address and calendar deduplication tool). But now Plaxo has announced that the Outlook synch is a premium member only tool. While I worry that this decreases the value of the service (since there will be fewer reasons for people to sign up, therefore fewer members, and decreasing the number of automatic updates I get), what is interesting is that every Comcast subscriber gets access to these premium services.

http://www.bergoiata.org/fe/felins/Focused,%20Snow%20Leopard.jpg

Apple has posted a support document detailing which applications Snow Leopard is incompatible with.

Mac OS X v10.6 Snow Leopard is designed to protect your Mac from certain incompatible software that can quit unexpectedly or cause other issues in Mac OS X v10.6.

When you install Snow Leopard or migrate to Snow Leopard, known-incompatible software is moved to a folder named Incompatible Software on your hard drive.

Snow Leopard also prevents known-incompatible software from opening. If you see an "Incompatible software" message, contact the software's vendor or visit their website for a later, compatible version.

You can hit the link below to view Apple's official incompatible list of applications. You may also want to check out the Wikidot page which details the compatibility status of even more applications.

Microsoft Apologizes for Racially Charged Image Alteration

Microsoft Apologizes for Racially Charged Image Alteration

Microsoft apologized Wednesday after a Polish version of the company's ad had a black man's head replaced with the head of a white man. News of the image alteration in the picture was making the rounds on forums last night. Microsoft pulled the picture today from the Web site hosting the image.

(See related story: 10 More Tech Company Photoshop Disasters)

The edit of the Microsoft ad for its Polish division was crude. The U.S. ad depicted three people at a conference table: an Asian man, a black man, and a white woman. When localizing the marketing image for Poland, Microsoft replaced the black man's with that of a white man.

Microsoft Apologizes for Racially Charged Image Alteration

The photos are basically identical (as pictured above). However, in the picture, only the black man's head was replaced -- the hands noticeably a different color.

Originally many thought this was originally a joke, but Microsoft's public apology set the record straight. Microsoft told Cnet it was "looking into the details of this situation."

A couple of other details are peculiar about Microsoft's (even unedited) image. First of all, the laptop in front of the black man is an Apple MacBook (yes, another Apple product in a Microsoft ad with the logo covered) and the computer monitor in front of the woman is not plugged into anything, even though the keyboard is.

Perhaps Microsoft should either look twice before buying stock photography or just hire a local photographer when they want to localize some marketing images.

Nokia Officially Announces the N900

http://www.thinkdigit.com/FCKeditor/uploads/nokia%20n900.jpg

Nokia today marked the next phase in the evolution of Maemo software with the new Nokia N900. Taking its cues from the world of desktop computing, the open source, Linux-based Maemo software delivers a PC-like experience on a handset-sized device.

The Nokia N900 has evolved from Nokia's previous generation of Internet Tablets and broadens the choice for technology enthusiasts who appreciate the ability to multitask and browse the internet like they would on their desktop computer.

Running on the new Maemo 5 software, the Nokia N900 empowers users to have dozens of application windows open and running simultaneously while taking full advantage of the cellular features, touch screen and QWERTY keyboard.

"With Linux software, Mozilla-based browser technology and now also with cellular connectivity, the Nokia N900 delivers a powerful mobile experience," says Anssi Vanjoki, Executive Vice President, Markets, Nokia. "The Nokia N900 shows where we are going with Maemo and we'll continue to work with the community to push the software forward. What we have with Maemo is something that is fusing the power of the computer, the internet and the mobile phone, and it is great to see that it is evolving in exciting ways."

Designed for computer-grade performance in a compact size, Maemo complements Nokia's other software platforms, such as Symbian, which powers Nokia's smartphones.

"Just as Nokia continues to expand and diversify its device portfolio, so it is deploying multiple platforms to allow it to serve different purposes and address different markets. While we have seen continued growth in Symbian as a smartphone platform, Maemo enables Nokia to deliver new mobile computing experiences based on open-source technology that has strong ties with desktop platforms," says Jonathan Arber, Senior Research Analyst in Consumer Mobile at IDC.

More multitasking with Maemo
The Nokia N900 packs a powerful ARM Cortex-A8 processor, up to 1GB of application memory and OpenGL ES 2.0 graphics acceleration. The result is PC-like multitasking, allowing many applications to run simultaneously. Switching between applications is simple, as all running content is constantly available through the dashboard. The panoramic homescreen can be fully personalized with favorite shortcuts, widgets and applications.

To make web browsing more enjoyable, the Nokia N900 features a high-resolution WVGA touch screen and fast internet connectivity with 10/2 HSPA and WLAN. Thanks to the browser powered by Mozilla technology, websites look the way they would on any computer. Online videos and interactive applications are vivid with full Adobe Flash(TM) 9.4 support. Maemo software updates happen automatically over the internet.

Messaging on the N900 is easy and convenient thanks to the full physical slide-out QWERTY keyboard. Setting up email happens with only a few touches and the Nokia Messaging service mobilizes up to 10 personal email accounts. Text message or IM exchanges with friends are shown in one view and all conversations are organized as separate windows.

The Nokia N900 has 32GB of storage, which is expandable up to 48GB via a microSD card. For photography, the Maemo software and the N900 come with a new tag cloud user interface that will help users get the most out of the 5MP camera and Carl Zeiss optics.

The Nokia N900 will be available in select markets from October 2009 with an estimated retail price of EUR 500 excluding sales taxes and subsidies. The Nokia N900 will be displayed at Nokia World, Stuttgart, on September 2. More information on Maemo is available at http://maemo.nokia.com.

Google Adsense and Multiple Ad Networks

Google Adsense and Multiple Ad Networks

Google Adsense is making a new update for it publishers. Soon you'll be able to allow multiple ad networks to show on your web pages. In other words, advertisers outside of Google-certified networks will be able to compete with Adwords advertisers for your ad space.

Let's define ad networks according to Google. Ad networks are companies that partner with advertisers and publishers to buy and sell ads on sites they don't own themselves." This is similar to Google Adsense.

How It Works

This is how it is going to work. The ads from these ad networks will compete with Google ads on publisher sites. The ads that generate the highest revenue for the publisher will be displayed.

You, the publisher will have control over which networks can show ads on your pages. Within your Adsense account, you will be able to choose to opt out of receiving ads from specific networks or all networks completely-and continue with Adwords advertisers only.

If you want to block ads from an outside ad network you'll find a new section within your Ad Review Center to do so. This is how you can get to the section within your Adsense account:

1. Adsense setup
2. Ad review center
3. Go to section of allow or block ad networks
4. Click change
5. Review the ad networks you want to block. Move the ad network from the allowed to the blocked by clicking on the block url.
6. Submit and the changes are completed within the hour.

Certifying Ad Networks

Google will not give free rein to the ad networks. To keep the standard high, all participating ad networks will have to adher to Google standards for user privacy, ad quality and speed.

Bottom line, Google will require all Ad Networks that want to join to be certified.

Rules for You and the Ad Networks

Some ad networks also utilize interest-based advertising. For these ad networks, they will not be able to:

1. collect data for interest-based advertising, However, Google will allow those who comply with Google's user privacy guidelines to show ads using these tools.
2. You will have the ability to opt-out of showing ads based on user interests from these ad networks

How to raise your associate Commissions.

This has been known as straightforward cash, since no web site is necessary.

Since Google now accept only 1 ad from a top domain, you have only two options.

Hope your adverts have the best CTR, so Google select your ad rather than all of the others selling the same product. This basically implies you have got to send two times as much visitors as before to make the same quantity of sales.

At least it must list all of the advantages for the product you are marketing. Where else am I able to promote affiliate products apart from my personal web site?

The following are just some of a large number of examples that you may consider. Start a chat with an individual while trying not to sell to them. Later while you are speaking, mention the product you are reselling. Also submit it to some free PDF directories. So think about using a different ad to give yourself an edge over all the other associates.

"The AdWords Junkie", Rolf Arne Trondhjem, has been selling goods on Adwords for ages.

http://www.crunchgear.com/wp-content/photos/MacBookProTouch.jpg

The entry-level polycarbonate MacBooks may be on the verge of a redesign, according to AppleInsider.

People familiar with Cupertino-based company's plans say the 13-inch portables are presently undergoing an industrial design overhaul that will see them reemerge in the coming months with a slimmer, lighter enclosure and restructured internal architecture to boot.

Introduced in May 2006 the MacBook has not had a redesign for three years. Apple currently only offers a white polycarbonate model that retails for $999; however, sales of that model outsell every other Mac but the iMac.

Its suggested that the new MacBook would be offered at a significantly lower price then then currently offered.

Steve Jobs is 'Pouring Almost All of His Attention' into the Apple Tablet

Since his return Steve Jobs is pouring almost all of his attention into the upcoming Apple Tablet, according to the WSJ.

Those working on the project are under intense scrutiny from Mr. Jobs, particularly with regard to the product's advertising and marketing strategy.

Mr. Jobs's focus on the tablet has been jarring for some Apple employees, who had grown accustomed to a level of freedom over strategy and products while the CEO was on leave, said a person familiar with the matter. "People have had to readjust" to Mr. Jobs being back

Strangely the article goes on to report that Jobs said in an email that "much of your information is incorrect," but he didn't provide specifics.

According to WSJ sources Jobs killed the project twice in recent years, the first time because the battery life was too short, and the second time because there was insufficient memory.

A New System Of E-Commerce?

As well as referral commissions for their direct sales, affiliates of MLAPs also get paid commissions when their sub-affiliates at multiple levels sell associate products. Here is lots more articles all about pay per click management. Unlike MLM programs, which charge "recruitment" costs, "starter kit" costs, "product testing" costs etc, there's never any money wanted to join a MLAP. The other 995 become "wasted" as they don't contribute in any way to the affiliate 's takings. However, lots of these "wasted" visitors, would see enough worth in these products to enroll as affiliates themselves and sell the products to their own contacts and web visitors. When this occurs in a single level affiliate program, the first affiliate earns nothing. Under all of the equal conditions the p.c of the market, occupied by a company, means certain level of recognition, brand, exposure and, , sales and earnings.

Today we're going to communicate about latter instrument of gaining exposure you deserve. Business partnership is a partnership between 2 or more legal entities to cooperate together to reach jointly advantageous results. By extrapolating such statement into a framework of gaining market exposure, we will narrow this meaning down by targeting joining promotional efforts for reaching jointly advantageous results. In practice the owner of affiliate marketing programme with the purpose of gaining in depth market exposure attracts fellow marketers to market the owner's ( s' ) product ( s ) for a reward customarily in the shape of commission from retail price per sale. A commission for popular data products may change from five percent to seventy pc. Promotional materials ( like, endorsement letters, reviews and articles ) can seriously aid your partners in marketing your product as very effective pre-selling tools. The dilemma of joining affiliate marketing programs the most typical mistake noobs do is registering with all possible and most unlikely affiliate marketing programs they see in hope to market them all and collect all of the money they were guaranteed to get on the page of respective affiliate marketing program owners. In a MLAP, the first associate would also be paid a referral commission on the sales manufactured by these sub-affiliates.

Microsoft delivers OneApp app framework for featurephones

Who said Microsoft's mobile strategy has to be limited to Windows Mobile? Redmond has just announced OneApp, a comprehensive framework for delivering apps on a variety of featurephones -- largely in emerging markets -- where processor horsepower and memory are both at a premium. The solution is deployed in harmony with partners (carriers, primarily) that work to offload app processing and storage into the cloud and keep the on-phone footprint as small as possible (Microsoft is quoting a scant 150K for the OneApp executable itself). At present, OneApp is up and running on South Africa's Blue Label Telecoms where subscribers have access to Windows Live Messenger, Facebook, Twitter, and RSS apps among others; more launches are planned around the world "within the next year" at which point an SDK will be made available to devs who want in. Behind the scenes, the app is based on web standards -- think Palm's webOS -- and is currently compatible with a variety of S60-based Nokias, Sony Ericsson featurephones, and Samsung's U900 Soul. And no, don't worry, this isn't Windows Mobile 7.

Snow Leopard vs. Win 7: Battle Begins August 28

http://www.techmagus.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/06/windows-7-vs-mac-os-x-leopard.jpg

Artwork: Chip Taylor
Apple's latest operating system update, Mac OSX Snow Leopard, should be ready to roll on August 28, and while Apple says the new OS is "refined, not reinvented," it'll become the de facto competitor to Microsoft Windows 7 come October. We love a good argument, so here's your fodder: five innovations for each OS being touted by their respective makers.

Mac OSX Snow Leopard:

Exposé Interactivity: The feature that shows all windows together is no longer a simple means for switching among them. It will be possible to drag content fromsnow leopard one previewed window to the other. Exposé will also work for individual applications by clicking and holding their icons in the dock. As a workaround for the miniscule preview windows in the dock, these improvements aren't bad.

Smart Services: Control-clickers will delight in new context-sensitive menus that appear when you perform the Windows-equivalent of a right click. For instance, highlighting and control-clicking text in a Web browser lets you send the text to an e-mail or import it to iTunes as a spoken word track.

Smaller Install: Pony up the $29 to upgrade to Snow Leopard, and you'll get 7 GB of your hard drive back. That's not a feature, per se, but it's certainly an innovation. The last thing we want is an operating system that's continually gaining weight.

VoiceOver: Though it won't be used by the majority of Mac owners, VoiceOver is arguably the most expansive addition to OSX. This tool for visually-impaired users essentially turns the trackpad into a screen reader, supporting special gestures to switch between windows and audio feedback when clicking.

Chinese Character Input: Okay, most of us won't use this feature either, but it's still pretty cool. After opening an input window, users can draw sketch Chinese characters on their trackpads and then select from a list of possibilities. It's as good a reason as any to start learning.

Windows 7:

Invisible Windows: The answer, of sorts, to OSX's Exposé lets users turn all open windows into bare outlines by moving the mouse to the screen's bottom right corner. From there, shaking a window makes all others minimize, and shaking it again brings them back up. A related window-management feature lets you quickly size windows to half the screen, allowing for side-by-side comparisons.

Jump Lists: It's no longer necessary to hunt through a folder of recent documents to pick up work where you left off. By right-clicking icons Windows 7's new dock (a feature cribbed from OSX), users can jump to recent documents or perform common tasks, such as resuming an old playlist in Windows Media Player.

Internet Access to Home Media: Got two computers, or a friend who wants to look at photos from your last get-together? Clicking a button within Windows Media Player opens up photos, videos, and music for streaming to other PCs. No party will ever be safe again from your weird musical tastes.

Touch Friendly: Should the touchscreen craze finally take off, Windows 7 will be ready with a mode that's tailor made for tablets. Start menu and taskbar icons are larger, and Web browsing can be done with a finger. Multitouch is also supported, with pinch and twist gestures for zooming and rotating.

HomeGroup: Sharing content between networked computers is nothing new, but Windows 7 makes it easier with HomeGroup. The feature lets any new computer joining your home network link up to existing ones, allowing for file transfers. Printers are also shared automatically, so no one has to be kicked off the master computer to print a document
